Everyone joins Amazon Prime for the free 2-day shipping for Prime eligible products, no matter the size or cost of the product you buy.
At $99 a year, it seems a steep price at first, but if you’re like the average Prime household that spends $1,500 a year on Amazon, the saving on shipping along is well worth the $99 annual fee.
Prime membership is even cheaper for students. If you just have a .edu email address, you get 6 months Free trial for Prime, instead of normal 1 month trial, and then only pay $50 a year instead of $99.
What is included with Prime Membership? Besides Free 2-day shipping? There a lot, some are unknown benefits that most people don’t even know about.
Amazon benefits and perks are added to the Prime program constantly. So many that Amazon is not marketing them well, so quite a few remain hidden.
Taking advantage of these will save you money and time, so you can do what you love, like taking naps.
Here are 7 of the ones we like the best.

1. Prime Now, Free 2-Hour Delivery (Including Groceries!)
This one is incredible. Amazon Prime Now, offers 2-hour deliveries for 29 cities (29 as of 6/4/2017, more cities are being added) for many products, such as USB Cables, Clothes, Office products, Toys, Pet Food, Paper Goods, and even Groceries!
Check if your city is Prime Now eligible at primenow.amazon.com
For a busy family like ours, this is a huge time saver. No longer do I need to run to CVS, Target or grocery store. I just order it on my phone, and it shows up at my door within 2 hours.
For Groceries, in select cities, Amazon has partnered up with local grocery chains, to deliver from the store to your door. This is great for us in San Diego, where Amazon has partnered with Sprouts, as Sprouts has amazing prices on produce.
We shop at Sprouts every week. Now we just check out the Sprouts Weekly Specials online, then order the through Amazon. $30 minimum order is required for delivery from Sprouts though

This is currently available in only Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, Manhattan, Minneapolis, Portland, San Diego, San Francisco Bay Area and Seattle.
If you’re not in one of these cities, but are in one of the other 29 cities with Prime Now, you can still get 2-hour delivery on groceries, but they will be sourced by Amazon, instead of from your local grocery chain.
The grocery prices sourced by Amazon tend to be higher than local grocery chain prices. Prices vary by city, so it’s worth to check out the prices in your city.

2. Free Movies for Amazon Prime Members with Prime Video
Most people know about this one, and we use this one all the time. There are tons of movies and show available on Amazon Prime Video, so there is always something to watch. (We just binge watched all 4 seasons of Vikings, and it was glorious!)
With Prime Video, we saw no reason to have Netflix. Netflix is $8/month for their cheapest plan, but doesn’t come with all the other features that Amazon Prime offers.

3. No Ads Music with Amazon Prime Music
Prime music allows you to stream music from the entire database of songs, and playlists. Other services such as Pandora and Spotify have ads, and limit the number of times you can skip songs you don’t like.
Prime music can be streamed to your Amazon Echo or Echo Dot or onto any device with the Amazon Music App, or on music.amazon.com
It’s free with Prime, and after I found this, I stopped using Pandora for music at work.

4. Amazom Prime Free Items(sort of), with Sample Boxes
Love free stuff? Try Amazon Samples. You can order boxes of beverage and snack samples directly from Amazon. You do have to pay about $10 for each box, but the $10 will be credited towards a future purchase.
There are new boxes offered all the time,
5. Unlimited Books, Comics, Magazines with Amazon Prime Reading
You’ll never run out of things to read with Prime Reading. Prime members have access to thousands of fiction and non-fiction books such as Lord of the Ring, Harry Potter.
Popular magazines are also on there as well, such as People, Rollingstone, Money and Reader’s Digest.

6. Borrow from the huge Kindle Owner’s Lending Library
With Kindle Owner’s Lending Library, there are over 1.3 million books that you can borrow. You’ll never need to buy another book.
The only catch is that you’ll need an Amazon device, such as a Kindle Reader or a Fire Tablet. KOLL does not work on Android or iOS kindle app.

7. Save 20% off on Diapers with Amazon Family
Did you know that Diapers are one of the highest volume sellers on Amazon? With Free 2-day shipping, it’s so much easier to order diapers online, and not have to hull those giant boxes from a regular store. It’s even better with 20% off on diapers from Amazon Family.
Amazon is adding new features and benefits all the time. It’s almost impossible to keep up even for their marketing department. A lot of features gets introduced, and consumers like us don’t even know about them.
Try some of the ones mentioned here in this article. You’ll be surprised how easy and well-done they are!
